Overview
The ‘Writing in Surgery’ course will enable you to construct a surgical paper and understand the fundamentals of publishing a surgical article.
A variety of activities are employed to suit different learning styles and to create an engaged, interactive, and collaborative community of learners through asynchronous discussion boards. A blend of formative and summative assessment are used to help you better orient your efforts and come to understand what is expected of you throughout the course.
Further courses in Advanced Writing in Surgery and Evidence Based Practice are under development and will complement the Writing in Surgery course, providing an opportunity to secure a 60 credit postgraduate certificate qualification. These two additional courses will arm you with skills that enable you to write a paper and optimise publication strategies through understanding how to develop research questions, the principles of trial design and data analysis, and the editorial process.
